Accessibility statement in accordance with the Accessibility Enhancement Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG)
Introduction
HottScan GmbH strives to make its digital offerings accessible in accordance with the Barrier-Free Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and EU Directive 2019/882. This statement describes the current state of accessibility of all publicly accessible web offerings of our company as well as planned improvements. This accessibility statement applies to the website www.hottscan.de and its associated subdomains.
Status of compliance with requirements
The aforementioned web offerings are partially compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 (Level AA). We strive to gradually remove digital barriers and continuously improve usability for all people, especially those with disabilities.
Non-accessible content
- Insufficient colour contrast: The contrast ratio between text and background colours is insufficient on some pages. We are working on adjusting the colour contrasts to improve readability for all users.
- Images and links without alternative text: Some images and linked content do not have alternative text or meaningful labels. This content is continuously reviewed and revised.
- Limited keyboard operation: In certain areas, the keyboard focus is not sufficiently visible, and the order of keyboard navigation is sometimes not logically comprehensible. Full use exclusively via the keyboard is therefore not currently possible throughout. We are working on barrier-free navigation without a mouse.
- PDF documents: Some PDF documents provided on the website do not meet the requirements for accessible documents. We are working on gradually adapting these or providing accessible alternatives.
- Videos: The videos embedded on our website are played via the YouTube platform. Currently, not all videos have subtitles. We are endeavouring to provide subtitles for all new videos in future and to retrofit existing content where possible.
Barriers due to economic unreasonableness
- External applications and embedded content (e.g. iFrames, code components): Due to their complexity and diversity, certain embedded applications or specially developed functions require a disproportionate amount of effort to make them completely accessible. This assessment is made in accordance with the legal requirements for economic reasonableness (Section 4 BFSG). We continuously review whether improvements are possible or whether alternative accessible solutions can be provided.
- Historical content: Older content created before the current legal requirements came into force may not fully comply with current accessibility standards. In many cases, retroactive accessibility adaptation would require a disproportionate amount of effort. New content is created and published in accordance with the applicable standards.
